I might be partial, but Palma is the perfect place to spend a weekend. In this post I will share my top tips for what to eat, see and do if you visit Palma for a weekend.
Palma has got an amazing food scene, starting with many nice spots for breakfast and brunch. Café Riutort is one of the places we keep coming back to and it never disappoints.
We keep coming back for the amazing toasts and high quality coffee, located in central Palma just off La Rambla on Calle del Carme.
Paseo del Born is hard to miss and this is one of the biggest streets in the center, with plenty of cafés, restaurants and bars. Just off born, on Carrer dels Paraires, you will find two of our favorite clothing shops: Es Principal and Paulas Room.
After a few hours of strolling in the city you might feel like getting something to eat, at least, we always do. We highly recommend El Camino both during lunch and dinner, this place has been open for one year now and has been consistently amazing since then. The interior is amazing, there is no pre-booking so sometimes you will have to wait before you get a spot, but the wait is totally worth it.
In the middle of the day, you might feel like taking a swim (we normally do). We recommend you to take bus number 3 from Palma in the direction towards Illetas and go to Cala Comtesa. If you have a car, the drive is around 10 minutes from the center. This place is perfect no matter if you prefer to be on the cliffs or in the sand, there are a few sunbeds (be here early in the morning if you want one though) and a small restaurant on the beach.
On the way to Cala Comtesa you can make a stop in Cala Mayor at Elefante for great coffee, toasts and smoothie bowls. All very fresh and with organic and local products.
As the sun sets, you might start to think about what to have for dinner. In Palma, there are plenty of options, from kitchens from all over the world. We have a few places we keep coming back to, and I will share a few of them now:
500 grados is an amazing place for neapolitan pizza. Make a reservation because this place gets crowded, with a nice mix of locals and visitors of the city.
Stagier is an amazing restaurant located in Santa Catalina with lovely food, nice staff and cozy atmosphere. Open both for lunch and dinner, make sure to reserve a table since this place is quite small.
After dinner, you might feel like going somewhere for a drink. Clandestino Cocktail Bar is a very cool, hidden place with cool drinks and a nice vibe. This is the perfect place if you are after a lounge-feeling, rather than a busy club-environment.
We hope you will enjoy these recommendations, happy weekend!
